A Perfect Inauguration/ BPEI / 2022

 A BPEI Journal entry/ 17/Dec/ 2022

"Want" is an interesting word. It means Lack, the lack of something that needs to to filled in. Once Its replaced with a entity desired, the "want" disappears.

------ Matt Haig, The Midnight Library.

Now the 'want' is BPEI (Bengaluru Print Exchange International), and the lack of activity- In exhibits- by Lavaru  art center. Also, I will replace yesterday with today since I was Unable  to write yesterday. Lets go at the very start.

5:00 pm:  30 minutes left- Now the BPEI was very much magic to me! It was days of non-stop labor and today was the result in coming. I was well dressed up with a blue Shirt and ochre no pale tan pants, with a sleek watch.

5:30 pm: Right off the bat, two guests entered. One being Suneil uncle, Who initially helped pattering the frames. and someone I don't know.  Mom joins dad. In no I guess 30 people came.

5:45 pm: At this moment, 33 people have been gazing at the 64 wonders of artists/ printmakers. I remember remember someone being enthralled by a print at the far left. Also the moment, where the food ordered for BPEI comes in. Immediately the table is full of huge utensils.

6:00 pm: Not much goes on. I am myself with a monopod with a camera attached to it. So the whole time, I was swinging the camera above people's head.

6:35 pm:  Three Chief guests have come. It's time for the inauguration. Mom and dad gave a small speech. While the five oil extensions are lit. I put it ' On LIve' on instagram. I guess around 30 people watched  it. Now I will skip to 7:00 coz not much happened.

7:00 pm: I took over the control of the projector. A lot of people came to see it. I tried my best to explain every inch of best to explain every inch of it.

7:20 pm:  I am still explaining works/ process video sent by various printmakers. A constant stream of people is coming. At this time, most keep their hands occupied by eating the food served, Even me, I gorge it down my throat. 5 people just came in. Mom and dad are busy talking, while my brother is recording every second.

7:40 om: The crowd is slowly dying out and no one is coming at the gallery. So to keep awake, I consume two tiny cups of coffee.

7: 50 pm: Four people are still here.

8:00 pm: The show ends, for today, everyone is delighted.

A rather successful inauguration!
